At Beacon Hill, learning does not take a summer vacation. Through our 3-week day camps, students continue the learning process in a fun and engaging manner.
Our goal is to help all Beacon Hill participants reach grade-level proficiency or above in both math and reading.
Our public schools have been failing black and brown students for decades. We believe that while talent is distributed equally, opportunity is not, and we are dedicated to ending this inequity.
With a customized learning plan, each Beacon Hill “Scholar” will learn to read, practice reading comprehension, and study mathematics. Certified professionals, assisted by trained volunteers, provide two to three hours of weekly tutoring using integrated exercises, workbooks, and storybooks. We use the Gideon curriculum which is fully TEKS-aligned (Texas Essential Knowledge & Skills) and is utilized, for a fee, in Gideon centers across the metroplex (and country).
